Fade
Low Fade Caesar With Full Connected Beard
- Difficulty
- BEGINNER
- Hair Type
- 4C coily, high density
What it is
A short, even Caesar-length top sits flat and dense across the head, blended into a low fade that only begins around the top of the ear and darkens straight down. There is no bald exposure; the fade bottoms out at a dark grey rather than skin. A sharp squared line-up frames the forehead and steps down into the sideburn, which runs unbroken into a full, boxed beard. All the contrast in this cut comes from the beard mass against the tight sides.
Who it suits
Best on tight coils cut short enough to lie flat, with even coverage across the crown. The beard weight balances long and oval faces and adds depth to a narrow jaw. Density matters more than length here, since patchiness shows immediately at this guard. Not for anyone who cannot grow a full connected beard, since the beard carries the look.
How to ask for it
Ask for a low fade that starts at the top of the ear, no skin, taken down to a dark two. Say keep the top short and flat all over, about a 2 with the grain. Request a square line-up across the front and the sideburn connected into a full beard, boxed at the cheek and shaped under the chin.
Upkeep
Two weeks keeps it crisp. The cheek line and line-up blur first. Brush the top nightly and trim the beard perimeter weekly to hold the box.
