Wolfing Waves With Shadow Taper And Full Beard
- Difficulty
- ADVANCED
- Hair Type
- Coarse coily hair, long wave pattern
What it is
A longer wave pattern in the wolfing stage, ridges wide and deep across the crown from extra length between cuts. The sides carry a shadow taper rather than a hard fade, staying dark right down to the ear so the wave pattern reads unbroken around the head. A full beard connects at the sideburn and is edged along the cheek with a clean razor line, and the front line-up cuts a stepped corner into the temple.
Who it suits
For someone already several weeks into a wave routine who wants depth over sharpness. Needs coarse coily hair that trains well. The shadow taper is forgiving on a fuller face because it avoids the hard contrast a skin fade creates. Good option if you connect a full beard and want the sides to run continuous from hair to jaw.
How to ask for it
Ask for a shadow taper with the waves left long, wolfing. Take the sides down with a 1.5 guard blended into a 1 at the ear and no skin exposed. Request a stepped line-up at the front hairline, the beard connected at the sideburn, and a razored cheek line above the jaw.
Upkeep
Brush hard twice a day with a soft and medium brush, always in the same direction. Durag every night. Stretch cuts to three or four weeks so the pattern keeps deepening.
