What it is

Individual box braids parted in clean square sections across the whole head, hanging past the jaw and just brushing the shoulder. The braids are medium gauge and braided tight at the root so the grid pattern stays visible through the scalp. Nothing is faded here. The barber work is at the perimeter: a razored front line pulled straight across the forehead, a squared temple corner, and a sideburn that connects into a full beard.

Who it suits

Good for anyone with enough natural length to braid without extensions, or who is willing to add them. It reads well on a fuller face because the vertical fall of the braids lengthens the profile. Works if you want a protective style you can leave in for weeks and only book the barber for edge work between installs.

How to ask for it

Ask for medium box braids in square parts, braided to shoulder length, sealed at the ends. Tell the barber or braider you want the parts kept even and visible. Then ask for a razor line-up: straight across the front hairline, hard ninety-degree corner at the temple, and the sideburn blended into the beard with a trimmer, no guard.

Upkeep

Braids hold four to six weeks. Tie down with a scarf at night, oil the scalp weekly, and book a line-up and beard trim every two weeks so the perimeter stays sharp between installs.
