What it is

This one keeps the weight up front. The taper stays low and tight around the ear and along the nape, barely climbing above the sideburn, while the top runs long and is pushed up and back into a high, chopped quiff. Length is point-cut through so the surface breaks into separate spikes rather than one solid mass. The temple corner is edged straight, and the back is left with a soft weight line instead of a fade all the way up.

Who it suits

Suits straight, thick, coarse hair that stands on its own with minimal product. Adds height, so it lengthens round and square faces. Needs a solid front hairline and dense growth at the fringe to support the lift. Fine or wispy hair will collapse by midday, and a very long face gets longer with this much height.

How to ask for it

Ask for a low taper around the ears and the neckline only, nothing above the sideburn. Say keep four to five inches on top, point cut for texture, and leave the back with a natural weight line. Tell them you style it up and back into a quiff, so leave the front longest.

Upkeep

Four to five weeks on the top, three on the taper. Ears and neck fuzz go first. Blow dry the front up with a matte clay or a light paste before it cools.
