Fade
Brushed Up Quiff Mid Skin Fade
- Difficulty
- ADVANCED
- Hair Type
- Thick straight to wavy hair
What it is
The top is left thick and swept up and back into a soft quiff, with the ends broken up so the shape carries height without looking set. Sides clear to skin through a mid fade that peaks just above the ear and blends smooth into the length near the parietal ridge. A hard front corner is squared in at the temple, and the fade line at the sideburn is taken down clean rather than joined to a beard.
Who it suits
For straight or lightly wavy hair thick enough to stand once it is lifted. The height on top lengthens a rounder face and the skin fade keeps the sides tight. Suits anyone who is comfortable spending two minutes with a dryer, and who wants a cut that reads sharp in an office as easily as at night.
How to ask for it
Ask for a mid skin fade, bald just above the ear, blending through a 1 and 2 into scissor work on top. Leave two to three inches at the front, tapering shorter toward the crown. Request a squared line-up at the front corner and the sideburn taken clean.
Upkeep
The skin line softens by day ten, so book every two weeks. Blow dry back off the face with a nozzle, then finish with matte paste for hold without shine.
