What it is

Wave rows run unbroken from the crown out in every direction, deep and evenly spaced, with the pattern trained long enough that it wraps the full head rather than just the top. The sides are shadowed with a taper that darkens down toward the ear and finishes clean at the nape without going bald, so the pattern keeps running into the taper. The front is lined up hard with a squared corner and a straight temple.

Who it suits

For coily hair being brushed into a wave pattern with real commitment. A shadow taper keeps the pattern intact around the sides, which matters if you are chasing full 360s rather than a fade. Suits anyone already on a brushing routine, and the connected chin strip and goatee keep the front of the face defined.

How to ask for it

Ask for 360 waves with a shadow taper, no bald: a 1 around the ear blending up into the pattern and a half at the nape. Request a hard squared line-up at the front and the temple run straight. Ask the barber not to clipper over the crown.

Upkeep

Brush morning, midday and night, and wear a durag to sleep every night without fail. Wash weekly with a moisturizing shampoo. Book a taper touch-up every two weeks and leave the top completely alone.
