Deep 360 Waves With Bald Taper
- Difficulty
- INTERMEDIATE
- Hair Type
- Coarse coily hair, short and brushed
What it is
Brushed 360 waves running from a crown swirl out in every direction, deep enough that each ridge casts its own shadow under the light. The hair is left short but not cut down, so the pattern has body across the top and sides. Around the ear and down the nape the barber has tapered to bald, which frames the wave pattern instead of interrupting it. A straight razor line finishes the front hairline.
Who it suits
Built for someone already committed to a brushing routine. Coarse, tightly coiled hair lays into waves fastest, and this length is the sweet spot where the pattern deepens without the top getting bushy. Suits a rounder face because the tight bald edge at the ear tightens the whole silhouette.
How to ask for it
Ask for a wave cut left at a 1 or 1.5 open all over the top, cut with the grain so the pattern is not disturbed. Request a bald taper starting at the temple, arcing over the ear and down to the nape. Finish with a straight-razor line across the front and a connected beard.
Upkeep
Brush morning and night with a medium boar brush, moisturize and tie down with a durag daily. Barber every ten to fourteen days for the bald taper and line only, never a full cut down.
