Fade
Waved Temple Taper With Beard Line
- Difficulty
- INTERMEDIATE
- Hair Type
- Fine to medium coily wave-trained hair
What it is
Short brushed waves cover the whole top, running front to back in tight even rows, and the sides drop away in a low temple taper that fades to skin around the ear and lifts again along the nape. The wave pattern carries into the fade for a stretch before the guard takes over, so the transition looks earned rather than cut in. A crisp front line-up and a squared beard edge frame the whole thing.
Who it suits
Anyone already training waves who wants a low-key fade that doesn't compete with the pattern. Works on fine to medium coily hair that lays down under a brush. Pairs naturally with a full beard, and it stays professional enough for any workplace while still reading like a real barber cut.
How to ask for it
Ask for a low temp taper with the waves kept intact on top, cut with a 1 or 1.5 open lever over the whole crown. Fade from skin at the ear up to the pattern, dropping the line just behind the temple corner. Keep the front line-up straight and connect the sideburn into the beard.
Upkeep
Brush morning and night, wrap at bedtime, and shampoo lightly no more than twice a week. Back in the chair every two weeks before the pattern loses definition at the crown.
