Fade
Spiky Textured Crop Temple Fade
- Difficulty
- INTERMEDIATE
- Hair Type
- Straight to slightly wavy, medium thickness
What it is
The top is point-cut into short spiky texture that sits up and forward, with a blunt fringe edge across the front. Sides run a mid temple fade that goes near-skin at the temple and blends back through the ear into the occipital bone. A hard front line-up gives the whole cut a clean box at the corner. The contrast between the spiked, choppy top and the smooth faded sides is the entire point of the shape.
Who it suits
Straight to slightly wavy hair with some natural thickness holds these spikes best. Younger wearers and anyone who wants a cut with movement rather than a flat top surface. Longer faces suit it because the fringe shortens the forehead. Fine hair will need a matte product to hold the separation.
How to ask for it
Ask for a mid temp fade, a 0.5 at the temple opening to a 2 behind the ear, with the fade line sitting halfway up the side. Leave the top about an inch and a half, point-cut for texture, and keep a blunt fringe at the front. Square the hairline at the temple corner.
Upkeep
Matte clay in dry hair, worked forward with the fingers, no comb. Book every two to three weeks — the fringe outgrows its shape faster than the fade does.
