Spiked Faux Hawk Fade
- Difficulty
- ADVANCED
- Hair Type
- Fine to medium straight hair
What it is
A wide strip of length runs down the centre from the front hairline to the crown and is spiked up and out into separated points, with lighter ends catching the tips. The sides are cut down hard and faded to skin above the ear, with the fade line taken high enough to isolate the strip completely. The back tapers into the nape so the shape narrows behind the head, and the front hairline is left free of a hard block.
Who it suits
Suits fine to medium hair that will hold a spike with product. The height down the centre lengthens a rounder face and the clean sides keep everything close at the temples. A strong option if you want a barber-cut shape with real edge, and one that can be worn flat and swept back on days you want it quieter.
How to ask for it
Ask for a faux hawk with a high skin fade at the sides, bald above the ear and blended through a 1 and 2. Keep a two-inch-wide strip down the centre at two to three inches, point-cut at the ends, narrowing toward the nape. Soft front hairline, no hard line.
Upkeep
Re-fade every two weeks to keep the sides clean against the strip. Blow dry upward at the roots, then work firm-hold clay or wax through the tips with your fingers to separate the spikes.
