What it is

A straight, blunt bob cut on an angle so the front hangs past the jaw while the back sits shorter and tucks under. One side is opened up completely: the temple and side panel are taken down to skin and blended up into a shaved wedge that the swept-over top hides or reveals depending on how the hair falls. The parting is sharp, cut in with the trimmer, and the perimeter is razor-clean.

Who it suits

Straight to lightly wavy hair with enough weight to hold a blunt line works best here. Good if you want a bob that still reads as barber work rather than a salon blowout, and you don't mind committing one side to clipper length. Thick hair benefits most, since the shaved panel removes bulk and lets the top lie flat.

How to ask for it

Ask for a forward-angled bob, longer at the front, cut blunt. Then request the side panel from the temple back to behind the ear taken to a 0 or 0.5 guard and faded up into the parting. Ask for a razored line to set the part, and the perimeter cut with scissors, not thinned.

Upkeep

Four to five weeks on the bob line, but the shaved panel needs a touch-up every ten to fourteen days. Smooth the top with a flat brush and a light serum; heat protect before flat-ironing the perimeter.
