Kids Taper Fade With Design Lines And Curly Top
- Difficulty
- INTERMEDIATE
- Hair Type
- Loose natural curls, kids
What it is
Loose natural curls kept full on top and swept forward, with the sides tapered close from the temple down to the nape. Two short parallel design lines are razored above the ear on one side, a small detail rather than a full pattern. The taper stays soft and does not go bald, and the front hairline is lined with a squared temple corner. Curl length is left uneven at the front so the top keeps its natural bounce.
Who it suits
A friendly option for kids with loose natural curls who want a bit of personality without a bold design. The taper is short enough to stay tidy between visits but not so short that it looks severe growing out. If your child is sensitive about clippers near the ears, ask the barber to do the design lines last. Simple to keep neat at home.
How to ask for it
Ask for a taper fade with the curls left on top and two thin design lines above the ear. Blend the sides from a 1 at the bottom up to a 3 at the top of the taper, keeping the line just below the temple corner. Request the front hairline squared and the two lines cut about a finger's width apart.
Upkeep
Spray with water and smooth in a light curl cream each morning. Nothing greasy. Book every three weeks so the design lines stay readable and the taper does not grow shaggy.
