What it is
Full springy curls sit up top with a mid fade underneath, and a single shaved line arcs through the fade just above the ear as a design detail. The front hairline is squared off with a clean corner at the temple. The curls are left uncut on the surface so they keep their bounce, while the sides are taken close enough to keep the whole thing from looking heavy.
Who it suits
Suits kids with defined curl who want a bit of personality without a complicated design. The single line is easy for any barber to redo and easy for a parent to explain. It works for school, and the length on top is short enough not to need detangling every day.
How to ask for it
Ask for a mid fade with the curls left long on top, starting a 0.5 at the bottom and blending to a 2. Ask for one shaved line running through the fade above the ear, and a squared line-up at the front. Say to shape the top with scissors only, no clippers.
Upkeep
Damp curls plus a pea of curl cream in the morning, that is it. The shaved line fades after about two weeks; the cut itself holds for four and grows out soft.
