Beard
Full Connected Beard with Razor Line-Up
- Difficulty
- INTERMEDIATE
- Hair Type
- 4C coily, high density
What it is
A dense, full-length beard carried from the temple straight down into a squared jaw and chin, connected to a short coily top through solid sideburns. The cheek line is razored high and clean so the beard reads as one continuous block rather than a patchy shadow. Length builds toward the chin, where growth is left longest, while the moustache is trimmed off the lip. What separates it from a fade-and-beard combo is the hard geometric line-up across the frontal hairline and temples.
Who it suits
Best on coarse coily growth with strong cheek and neck density, since the shape depends on being able to hold a straight cheek line. Suits oval and round faces, because the weight at the chin adds vertical length. Anyone with sparse cheek connection or a scattered growth map will fight this shape every week and should take a shorter, softer beard instead.
How to ask for it
Ask for a full beard left long at the chin, cheek line razored straight from the sideburn down to the corner of the mouth, and the neckline taken out about two fingers above the Adam's apple. Say you want the moustache trimmed clear of the lip and a sharp razor line-up across the front hairline and temples.
Upkeep
Two to three weeks in the chair. The cheek line blurs first, then the neckline. Brush daily, oil the chin where it gets brittle, and clean the neck yourself between visits.
