Women
Cropped Pixie With Low Taper Fade
- Difficulty
- INTERMEDIATE
- Hair Type
- fine to medium, slight natural body
What it is
Short all over, with the top left just long enough to stand and fork into itself, and a soft textured fringe pushed forward at the hairline. The sides run tight and clean into a low taper fade that fades out around the ear and holds a soft, natural neckline rather than a blocked one. No hard corners anywhere; the whole shape is rounded and follows the head.
Who it suits
Suits fine to medium hair with a bit of natural body, and anyone who wants a genuinely low-effort cut that still looks cut. Strong if you want short hair without an undercut or a hard line. Works well with a straight hairline; a strong cowlick at the crown will push the top texture around, which reads fine here.
How to ask for it
Ask for a short crop, roughly an inch on top, point-cut for texture and left forward at the front. Sides on a 1 with the fade line starting just below the temple and blending out at the top of the ear. Neckline tapered, not blocked. Keep the corner over the ear soft.
Upkeep
Every three weeks to keep the taper honest. A pea of matte paste worked through dry hair with your fingers is all the styling it needs, and it air-dries into shape.
